Those of us who menstruate have been fed a lie:

  • We’ve been taught that our periods are inconvenient, dirty, or even shameful.  
  • We’ve been taught that PMS is just a fact of life (spoiler alert: it isn’t!) and that the only hopes of dealing with it are hormone-disrupting birth control pills.

Hi, I'm Christine!

Struggling to keep up in a world that wasn't designed to honor your body?  I've been there too.

Just 6 years ago I was working full-time (~60-70 hour weeks!) on film and television sets as a makeup artist and hair stylist.  It was all I ever wanted to do - I was living my dream; I had "made it."

So why was I still so tired?

For over a decade I pushed myself through cramps, migraines, mood swings, and near-debilitating brain fog and fatigue to show up on set. 

By age 30, I was burnt out.  My health was failing.  

I'd lived in an apartment with mold toxicity, I'd developed dozens of food sensitivities, I had chronic aches and pains, my mental health was in the gutter, and my menstrual cycles were a nightmare.

In February 2019, I finally had my wakeup call: I survived a major car accident that changed my life.

Over the next 2 years, I had 3 surgeries and was forced to focus on my health full time. 
After several years of full-time recovery, I continued my recovery as I started to shift my focus to helping others.  I did my training as a Reiki Master, a birth and postpartum doula, and a yoga teacher.  It's been an enlightening journey as I began to support others while still unraveling my own trauma, nervous system health, and healing.  I've learned more about the human body than I ever thought I would know, and have developed a passion for biohacking, female health, nutrition, and holistic wellness.  

It's been my great honor to support women in my community as they birth their babies, transition to new parenthood, and explore their fertility journeys.  It became clear to me that our reproductive hormones, our unique physiology - whether we choose to give birth or not - is a the core of our health, happiness, and how we interact with the world.

As I supported others, I began to gain more awareness of my own cycle, and over time realized my own symptoms were consistent with PMDD (a severe form of PMS).  In 2023, I received an official PMDD diagnosis after months of intense cycle tracking and information-gathering.  Knowing that my body doesn't react well to medications, I decided to find holistic ways to make my cycles easier and decrease my symptoms.  I became determined to learn even more about the menstrual cycle and how to support it.

I can now proudly say that I haven't had a panic attack in over a year and a half, and that I counted only 5 bad nights of sleep in all of 2024 - none of which were PMS-related (2 following pet loss, 2 post-op, and 1 while staying at a friends house!)  My mineral levels on my blood and hair tests have greatly improved.  My hormones have balanced.  I take time off during my period to rest and I leverage the energy I have during other phases of the cycle - a practice that has helped me get in touch with myself on a deeper level.  I've done all of it without medication - simply with lifestyle changes - and many of my clients have too.

I've seen both in my clients, and first-hand in my own life how vastly one's quality of life can change by nurturing their menstrual cycles,  not ignoring them as we've been taught to do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I benefit from Menstrual Magic even if I'm on the birth control pill?
When you're on most forms of hormonal birth control (the pill, implant, IUD), ovulation and hormones are being chemically altered.  Some people on hormonal birth control may not ovulate at all.  The "placebo week" or "bleed week" included in some birth control packs, is not a true period because ovulation has not happened.  Thus, your hormonal fluctuations will not be the same as the natural ones discussed in Menstrual Magic.  You may still wish to check out the course and align your phase-specific living to the phases of the Moon, rather than to a menstrual cycle.  The lifestyle recommendations outlined in Menstrual Magic will definitely support you if you ever decide to transition off of your hormonal birth control method and work to regulate your hormones and your cycle afterwards.
Can I use the methods in Menstrual Magic if I don't have a regular (21-35 Day) menstrual cycle (or any menstrual cycle at all)?
Absolutely!  While the lifestyle recommendations outlined in Menstrual Magic follow the phases of the menstrual cycle, you can track your phases and align with them, regardless of their length.  If you have an irregular cycle but are hoping to regulate it (such as after pregnancy, or after coming off hormonal birth control), eating, sleeping, exercising, and socializing in ways that support your hormones may help balance your cycle.  If you don't have a menstrual cycle at all, but you want to embrace phase-specific living, the course will teach you how to use the Moon's phases as your monthly guide, rather than a menstrual cycle.
Will Menstrual Magic teach me how to heal reproductive disorders like PCOS, endometriosis, etc.?
No.  Menstrual Magic is a course designed for educational purposes and is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical conditions.  Within the confines of this course, we do not have the space to dive deep into reproductive disorders and give them the attention they truly deserve.  However, I believe Menstrual Magic can still benefit you if you have a reproductive disorder.  It will teach you how to eat, sleep, work, and exercise in ways that support your hormones and your overall health.  These holistic lifestyle considerations have been shown to help balance hormones and support the nervous system, which may in turn improve symptoms of your condition.  We advise you continue to work with your experienced medical provider on your reproductive disorder while you apply the recommendations in Menstrual Magic that are best for you.
​I don't have a menstrual cycle, but I love someone (spouse, child, etc.) who does - what's in the Menstrual Magic Course for m​e?
Welcome!  Thank you for checking out this course.  It is truly my highest wish that the menstrual cycle will, over time, be less and less of a "taboo" topic, but that it will be common place for partners and families to discuss.  The fact is, that roughly half of our population has a menstrual cycle and experiences the corresponding monthly hormonal fluctuations that come with it.  These fluctuations greatly impact the way a person moves through the world and they impact the health of that person for their entire life.  If you are considering taking Menstrual Magic as a way to learn about and support your loved one, I welcome and applaud you!  Know that, in order to keep the language as simple as possible, I have created the course in second-person language, addressing the person with the menstrual cycle (i.e. "your estrogen rises during your follicular phase") but it will be easy for you to substitute this language with "your loved one." (i.e. "your spouse's estrogen rises during their follicular phase").
I have a menstrual cycle but I don't identify as a woman, is Menstrual Magic for me?
Yes!  Of course, trust your intuition here.  I (Christine) am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and do my best to be an ally to groups within it that I'm not a part of.  This course is spoken, for simplicity's sake, in second-person voice towards people who menstruate, but in most places I've strived to use language that is gender-neutral.  The focus of the course is to support your hormone health, your physiology, and your relationships, regardless of your gender identity or sexual preference.
My child just started menstruating and I want to teach them about their cycle but I don't know how - will Menstrual Magic help me?
Yes! Menstrual Magic is a great foundational course for parents wanting to teach their kids about menstruation.  The first Module goes over Anatomy, the Reproductive System, and the hormonal changes of the menstrual cycle.  Module 2 focuses on Cycle Tracking - a tool that can support menstruators for decades to come.  Parents are encouraged to work through the entire course on their own first, before sharing pieces of it with their children.  While the lessons are designed to be accessible, evidence-based, and wholesome, parents should use their best judgment.  Trust your instincts and your child's maturity level.  The one Module that may not be timely for some young people (depending on age, family dynamics, maturity level etc.) would be Module 6 in which we discuss the libido and sexual intimacy.  Again, parents should watch this module first and use their best judgment.  We hope that Menstrual Magic will support your family's journey of hormone health!
